Improv Night Pizza Party

🎭It's time for… the Shakespeare Feaste!🎭 INTRO The Shakespeare Feaste is a super fun “dinner and a show” performance. Here are the main things you will do at the Feaste Serve the food Perform monologues and scenes (from Shakespeare plays!) Sing a few songs But these are just the basics, there's a lot more we’re going to be doing, including telling jokes, magic tricks, and interacting with the people there. It’s a performance… but don't think of it as a regular show. PART 1: THE FEASTE CHARACTERS There are a lot of different characters at the Shakespeare Feaste, everyone is going to get a chance to do something fun! Take a look at this list or characters and what they do, and start thinking about which part you might want to play! King and/or Queen of the Feaste Very good at improv Keeps the audience engaged Interacts with people Kind of runs the show For this part you need to be good at thinking quickly and not be afraid to make bold choices in your acting Lady or Lord

Crunch Time! What do you have left to do? And VANBUCKS!

This is a flow chart for our play.   Use a flow chart to . . . 1. Know WHEN you come on stage. 2. Know what you SAY and DO when you are on stage. 3. Know what happens BEFORE you come on stage. 4. Use a flow chart to REMEMBER what you are doing in the play! HOMEWORK I need to see YOUR own FLOW CHART! AT OUR NEXT CLASS!! That is your homework.   You can look at the one I created, but if you don’t understand what you are supposed to do mine still won’t help you.   **I will help you any way I can, BUT I cannot learn your part for you!** TO DO: 1. CREATE YOU OWN FLOW CHART, write it in a way YOU understand. 2. SHOW ME AT or BEFORE our NEXT CLASS. 3. Complete 1 and 2 you you get $10 Vanbucks. πŸ˜ƒ πŸ’₯ πŸ™Œ  **You chart does not need to look just like mine. You could use pictures or make a timeline, whatever makes the most sense to YOU. ** There are samples in the last post. ***NOTE: this was already assigned last week***  Class was busy and spread out this time so I’m generously giving you one

Please SPEAK UP!

Hello! Our play is coming together SO WELL!   I'm getting picky now because you are doing such a good job, so now we fine tune. THIS IS WHAT WE NEED NEXT: We need to HEAR YOU! For your homework: PART ONE:  I would like you watch this video and for the next week DON'T MISS THIS PART spend 10-15 minutes everyday using the principles taught in the video: HOW TO SPEAK MORE LOUDLY PART TWO: Continue to review your lines, your cues and your blocking. DO YOU KNOW YOUR CUES?  Do you know WHEN and WHERE you move?  PART THREE: CREATE A FLOW CHART.  That means you make a list of what you do in the play and when.  Here is a sample from another show.. . .  HINT: this will be a HUGE help in knowing your cues, blocking, etc. SAMPLE FLOW CHARTS BELOW

Not too soon for Christmas Songs

In the play you will be singing Christmas songs. Do you know the Christmas songs in the play?  🎢 🎡 πŸŽ„  ALL CAST MEMBERS need to know the FIRST VERSE on each of following songs .  1. O little town of Bethlehem 2. Away in a manger 3. While shepherds botched their flocks by night 4. Angels we have heard on high  5. We three Kings of Orient are (sing a verse, hum a verse) 6. Silent Night 7. Joy to the World So this week, your homework is to. . . .  LEARN THE CHRISTMAS SONGS. One way to learn the songs is to sing through these songs at least once everyday. You may also write out all the lyrics to help you memorize the words. Both of these are just suggestions, but you are welcome to use other ways to work on your songs. Please let me know that you practiced the songs at our next class November 4.   (PLEASE CONTINUE TO REVIEW YOUR LINES!!! IF YOU ARE STILL NOT MEMORIZED YOU HAVE ONE MORE SHOT TO EARN $5 IN VANBUCKS, IF YOU ARE MEMORIZED BY OUR NEXT CLASS NOVEMBER 4.  YOU CAN DO IT!!!) πŸ’΅

Earn a cool $10 of Van-bucks, see how . . . .

Hey there, did you know that the memorization deadline was two weeks ago? 😱   Many of you still need to get lines memorized. So I am offering an incentive. 😁 But there is a TIME LIMIT! Here’s the deal, get your lines memorized by our next class, October 28, and you will get $10 in van bucks. 🎈 πŸ’° πŸ’΅ πŸŽ‰  If you need a little more time then have your lines memorized by November 4 and you can still earn $5 in Van bucks. πŸŽ‰  NOVEMBER 4 IS THE LATEST WE CAN GO! You CAN do this!! Your peers are depending on you.  ⭐️ It may seem overwhelming and I’m here to help, ask me, or ask a parent for tips on memorizing your lines!! You can do this, I KNOW you can!! But you’ve got to put in the effort. Do a little every day instead of putting it off. Cramming your lines later won’t help you retain them as well and you lose the opportunity to create your character when you haven’t learned your lines. ⭐️    IT IS ONLY  AFTER   THE MEMORIZATION   THAT  THE MAGIC   HAPPENS. ~Dumbledore πŸ˜‰     πŸ‘€SO, Tha
